State Rep. Ken Yonker today was appointed by House Speaker Jase Bolger to help lead the newly formed House Committee on Michigan Competitiveness to consider ways to encourage a healthy economy and better quality of life for all residents.
“I am very excited about the creation of this new committee, and I’m honored to be asked to serve as vice chair,” said Yonker, R-Caledonia. “We made leaps and bounds last term in improving the health of our economy. The entire nation is watching Michigan earn its title as the comeback state, and it’s clear now to other states and even internationally how competitive we are once again.
“As a state we have made significant changes that have improved our business climate, but other states are continuously working toward the same goal and this committee will help keep us a step ahead of everyone else so that Michigan truly is the best state in which to expand and grow a business.”
Yonker will also serve on the committees on education; elections and ethics; health policy; and regulatory reform.
