“It’s a good day when government can join hands with a community to invest in a project that matters,” said Wozniak, R-Shelby Township. “Shelby Township continues to grow, so our community center needs to grow right along with it. These enhancements have been carefully planned, and funding for them in the works, for several years. I couldn’t be happier that all the township’s hard work looks to be coming to fruition.”

“I don’t think that the government agency receiving a FOIA request should be the final arbiter of whether or not they are going to honor the request short of going to court,” Wozniak said. “There needs to be an independent public body that can hold other units of government accountable to ensure citizens are not having their request arbitrarily declined.”
