State Rep. Rodney Wakeman stood alongside his House Republican colleagues Tuesday and announced their action plan for the next two years.

The plan, called “Leading the Way for an Even Better Michigan,” lays out the key priorities for Republican lawmakers in the 2019-20 legislative term, including training skilled workers, strengthening the state’s agricultural economy and helping Michigan families keep more of what they earn.

“Increasing opportunity and growing Michigan’s economy starts with making critical investments in our infrastructure and in our workforce to build an even stronger Michigan,” said Wakeman, of Saginaw Township. “It’s about making sure our state’s economy continues to grow and that we are meeting the growing demand for skilled workers by providing adequate job training in our schools.”

Wakeman noted the need for good public policy that ensures no part of our state is overlooked.

“We need to support our farmers and strengthen our agricultural opportunities. We need to reduce taxes on Michigan families and encourage the hard work and ingenuity that made Michigan that state that put the world on wheels.”
