State Rep. Rodney Wakeman of Saginaw Township celebrated March is Reading Month by reading to 247 students at six local schools.

“Reading is critical to a child’s growth and development,” Rep. Wakeman said. “When we encourage children to read, we give them a solid foundation for all their future pursuits. I hope you will invest in the children in your life by sharing with them the joy of reading.”

March is Reading Month is an annual educational program designed to recognize the importance of reading inside and outside of the classroom.
