House Speaker Tom Leonard last week announced state Rep. Scott VanSingel, of Grant, will serve on the House Appropriations Committee and vice chair the Environmental Quality Appropriations Subcommittee.
VanSingel has worked in public accounting for the world’s largest CPA firm and worked as a financial analyst for Dematic in Grand Rapids. VanSingel also started a successful rental real estate company.
“I am humbled and thankful to Speaker Leonard to be selected to serve on the Appropriations Committee and vice chair the Environmental Quality Committee,” said Rep. VanSingel. “My extensive background in finance has prepared me for this great opportunity and I look forward to balancing the budget and working hard to account for every dollar spent to properly serve all Michigan residents.”
The first-term lawmaker also will serve on the following House Appropriations Subcommittees on Corrections, Natural Resources and Transportation.
