The Michigan House of Representatives recently reintroduced the financial disclosure and transparency website and made House employee salary information available to the public.

State Rep. Jim Runestad, of White Lake, issued the following statement regarding the recent decision:

“I’m commend House Speaker Tom Leonard on his decision to disclose this financial information publicly.

“I’ve met with local residents in my community who strongly believe that state government should be held liable for their work as public servants through ease of accessibility to electronic records accounting for every dollar spent.

“I am pleased to be a part of this outstanding group of lawmakers led by a Speaker whose priority is putting people before politics.”
