State Rep. Bruce Rendon, R-Lake City, and his wife Daire, welcomed Tim Searfoss, owner of Searfoss Developments in West Branch, to the House chamber on Wednesday evening for Gov. Rick Snyder’s State of the State address. Rendon was pleased with issues the governor’s third speech included and said one of his own priorities continues to be the importance of agriculture for the future of Michigan.
“Manufacturing is coming back, but an area that we really haven’t acknowledged enough in the last couple decades is the ag industry,” Rendon said. “Thankfully, the governor we elected two years ago began increasing the focus on strengthening agriculture to make sure it continues to be an important piece of building Michigan’s economy and an icon for across the country.”
