Legislator named as vice-chair of the Oversight Committee

State Rep. John Reilly of Oakland Township has been appointed to serve on three committees for the 2019-2020 legislative term, providing a unique opportunity to help the residents of Oakland County on a variety of important issues facing the state.

Reilly is set to serve as the vice chair of the House Oversight Committee, and serve on the House Education and Natural Resources and Outdoor Recreation committees. Committee appointments were announced this week by Speaker Lee Chatfield.

“I’m honored to have been entrusted with such a wide portfolio of legislative responsibilities, from commerce and natural resources to government oversight and, my personal passion, the education of young Michiganders,” Reilly said.

Reilly has fought for efficient state government that provides quality services to the hard-working taxpayers of Michigan during his first term in office.

“My office has always actively sought to help our constituents with any problems they may have with state agencies. As vice chair of the Oversight Committee, I will have the opportunity to not only resolve individual issues, but pursue and resolve their root causes. I encourage all constituents to contact my office, that we may help our state government work better for them.”

Rep. Reilly is currently in his second term serving the 46th House District, which represents residents of northern Oakland County, including Oxford, Orion, Oakland, Addison and Brandon townships.
