State Rep. Brad Paquette is encouraging everyone to take advantage of the state’s winter Free Fishing Weekend on Saturday, Feb. 16 and Sunday, Feb. 17.
Free Fishing Weekend allows Michigan residents and out of state visitors to enjoy fishing on both inland and Great Lake’s waters for all species of fish. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources will waive all fishing license fees for these two days and regular recreation passport fees will NOT be required for entry into state parks and recreation areas during this time. All fishing regulations will still apply.
“This is a great opportunity to spend time with family and friends and to enjoy the outdoors,” Rep. Paquette said. “I encourage everyone to take advantage of Free Fishing Weekend.”
