Rep. O’Malley secures funding for Cedar River Marina Project
RELEASE|March 12, 2020

State Rep. Jack O’Malley today announced a supplemental funding plan on its way to the governor providing funding for the Cedar River Marina Project in Leelanau County.

“This is going to be huge for Victoria Creek Park and the people of Cedar,” Rep. O’Malley said. “This project will improve access for people who want to enjoy the Cedar River and Lake Leelanau, with access to Lake Michigan. It’s also going to have a beneficial impact on the economy, as locals and tourists will be more inclined to check out businesses and restaurants downtown Cedar.”

The project will include a kayak and canoe launch, handicap lift, tension membrane shade structures, a new dock and decking, and more.

“This is going to be a fantastic development for the Fighting 101st ,” Rep. O’Malley said. “That’s why I fought hard to get necessary resources into the budget. I look forward to seeing this project unfold in the future.”

Senate Bill 151 was approved by the House and Senate and now heads to the governor for approval.
