Rep. O’Malley discusses roads at first Facebook Live town hall meeting
RELEASE|June 20, 2019

State Rep. Jack O’Malley, of Lake Ann, participated in the Michigan Legislature’s first-ever Facebook Live town hall event to discuss road funding and the future of Michigan’s infrastructure.

Rep. O’Malley was a special guest of Rep. Andrea Schroeder, who sponsored the event. O’Malley answered multiple questions from the live feed on Facebook that has reached over 1,000 views.

Discussion topics included the governor’s massive 45-cent per gallon gas tax increase proposal, new record funding for roads in the House-approved budget proposal and how road funds and materials are used in Michigan.

“We must continue discussing the nuggets of truth concerning how roads are being built and managed for the best return on investment for drivers and their families,” said O’Malley, chair the House Transportation Committee. “By having this open discussion and listening to your concerns we are finding better and more creative ways to help Michigan fix roads.”

“This live town hall event allows viewers to ask multiple questions and engage in important topics they are passionate about,” O’Malley said.
