RELEASE|January 9, 2020
Contact: Mike Mueller

State Rep. Mike Mueller, of Linden, was today appointed by House Speaker Lee Chatfield to serve as vice chair of the Agriculture Committee.

A retired Livingston County Sheriff’s deputy, Mueller now runs Mueller’s Orchard and Cider Mill, which has been in business since 1941. He also operates a wedding and event site on the orchard with his wife, Angie.

“I grew up living and breathing the agriculture industry,” Mueller said. “It’s how my father put food on the table for my family, and how his father put food on the table for him. Today, I know there’s more to agriculture than just farming as Michigan is home to a booming agritourism industry. I look forward to harnessing my experience in both areas to make Michigan’s agricultural industry even better.”

The Agriculture Committee is responsible for deliberating on all policy related to the agricultural industry in Michigan.  The committee’s regularly scheduled meeting time is Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. in Room 326 of the House Office Building.

Mueller continues to serve as vice-chair of the House Military, Veterans and Homeland Security Committee and as a member of the Energy and Health Policy committees.

Residents with concerns regarding the agriculture industry, or any other issue facing the state, may contact Mueller’s office at (517) 373-1780 or [email protected].
