On Monday, May 23 Rep. Peter Lucido will be joined by local, state and federal officials as well as representatives from healthcare agencies, hospitals and veterans groups to discuss benefits available to seniors, veterans and their families.
Guests will have the opportunity to speak with the officials, experts and vendors and have questions answered about things like Social Security, Insurance, tax assistance, GI Bill Credits, mortgage assistance, long-term care and other benefits available.
“It is important that seniors and veterans and their families know the services and benefits that are available to them,” said Rep. Lucido, R-Shelby Township. “We need to make sure we are providing up to date information about all benefits and services, as often many families do not know where to turn because they are unaware of a service of benefit which can help them and their situation. Hopefully, by bringing the beneficiaries together with those who can help them, we will be able to help alleviate uncertainties and inform those who have done so much for us about the benefits and services they are entitled to receive.”
The event is FREE to all seniors and veterans in the 36th District and their families and will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Palazzo Grande in Shelby Township. Lunch will be provided and there will be many giveaways.
“You will not want to miss this,” Lucido said. “Not only will it be extremely informative, it will be a great time for all, I’m looking forward to seeing you all there!”
Space will be limited, so please RSVP by email at PeterLucido@house.mi.gov or by phone at 1-888-MICHREP. Anyone who is interested in helping out, or has ideas for topics of conversation that would be helpful to this event is encouraged to contact the office as well.
