State Rep. Peter Lucido presented the Kiel Family of Nitsches Meats & Deli, in Shelby Township, with a special tribute recognizing the shop’s 30th anniversary, Thursday.

“This tribute recognizes the owners, management and staff of Nitsches Meats & Deli, not only for their wonderful service and delicious meats and deli products, but for what they mean to the community,” Lucido said. “Every business makes a contribution to the community it serves, but some, like Nitsches, contribute just a bit more.  They create a sense of home, and provide special memories and experiences for loyal customers and first-time shoppers, alike – they become part of the fabric and traditions of our lives.”

Nitsches Meats & Deli is a full-line deli and bakery with butcher and catering services. Owned and operated by the Kiel family, Nitsches has been at the same location since it opened. Barb and Ken Kiel bought the shop from the original owners in 1989.
