Rep. Lilly announces release of 2019-2020 House Republican Action Plan
RELEASE|February 20, 2019

Plan includes priorities for 2019-2020 legislative term

State Rep. Jim Lilly, of Park Township, joined his colleagues today for a press conference unveiling the 2019-2020 House Republican Action Plan, which serves as a guide for legislative activity over the next two years.

Lilly said he is particularly enthusiastic about the focus the plan puts on education, auto insurance reform and ensuring clean and safe drinking water for all Michigan residents.

“It’s time for us to finally put an end to Michigan’s ineffective auto insurance system,” Lilly said. “The people have spoken, and they’re not satisfied with the existing No-Fault system, and rightly so. It’s our job to come together and create an innovative and effective solution for Michigan drivers.

“Water is Michigan’s most precious resource. Our plan continues recent efforts to ensure the safety of our public drinking water and protect our abundant lakes and streams.”

Lilly also said there’s always more that can be done to better prepare students for the future.

“This plan highlights the need for greater investment and availability of career training and apprenticeship programs in our schools. There are thousands of unfilled jobs in Michigan’s workforce. It’s time we start prepping our kids to fill these positions so they can live successful and meaningful lives after graduation.”

“Now is the time to get to work on these important issues. I’m excited to work with the governor and my colleagues across the aisle to make this plan a reality. The residents of Ottawa County deserve no less.”

The entire House Republican Action Plan is available to the public on the Michigan House Republican website.
