Rep. Leutheuser, Sen. Shirkey to be ‘baristas for a day’
RELEASE|April 11, 2019

State Rep. Eric Leutheuser of Hillsdale and Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey of Clarklake will serve as guest baristas at Biggby Coffee, 210 W. Carleton Road in Hillsdale on Monday, April 29. From 9 to 11 a.m., the legislators will volunteer as part of Biggby’s first annual B Kind Day, which promotes kind acts across the community.

“It’s great to see Biggby flourish as such a great community partner,” Rep. Leutheuser said. “This will be an opportunity to take a break from a hectic day and spread a little kindness to your neighbors. It is a privilege to help support this opportunity, and I hope you will stop by to say hello!”

“We need to learn to spread more kindness in our community, and Biggby has taken up the cause with B Kind Day,” Sen. Shirkey said. “I hope everyone will take this encouragement to heart. Please stop in and visit on April 29!”

As part of B Kind Day, Biggby will be giving away a free flower bouquet with any supersized purchase. Customers will have the option to donate the bouquet back to Biggby, who will deliver them to over 300 local residents in the hospital or adult care homes. Supplies to make uplifting cards will also be available to give to loved ones or send to those in need. Rep. Leutheuser and Sen. Shirkey will serve as baristas to promote awareness of the event.
