Rep. LaSata talks about two pieces of legislation she has authored that have passed the Michigan House and that are now pending in the Michigan Senate.  House Bill 4336 would prohibit an individual from claiming a principal residence homestead exemption in Michigan if they also claim an exemption in another state, while HB 4302 is part of a bi-partisan, three-bill package that increases maximum penalties from 10 to 15 years  for individuals convicted of assault and battery on courtroom personnel.
