State Rep. Bronna Kahle welcomed the Lenawee Christian School girls’ basketball team to the Capitol. She was honored to meet with the students and escort them to the House chamber where they were recognized as the MHSAA Class D basketball state champions.
“It was a privilege to have these young athletes join me for the day,” Rep. Kahle said. “Their dedication and hard work will serve them well.”
The team concluded their extraordinary season with a 26-1 record, making them the first Lenawee County team to win a state championship in over four decades. Coach Jamie Salenbien led the Lenawee Christian Cougars through another successful season, for which he received the 2018 Lenawee Coach of the Year award.
