Each year at the beginning of March, schools kick off March is Reading Month by celebrating the birthday of Dr. Seuss. Teachers design contests, plan family literacy events, and invite special guests to read to their classrooms. State Rep. Bronna Kahle of Adrian visited classrooms throughout Lenawee County during the month of March.
“Whether you are a student or a career professional, reading has an impact on your life,” Rep. Kahle said. “Visit your local library to find a new book or go to your bookshelf and pick up an old favorite. Let’s make every month Reading Month.”
Rep. Kahle visited 17 schools across the county and read to over 2,300 students. She hopes activities like these will help foster a love of books in students that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.
