Rep. Huizenga issues statement after House budget subcommittee advances plan
RELEASE|May 14, 2019

State Rep. Mark Huizenga, of Walker, today issued the following statement after the House Appropriations Subcommittee on General Government – which he chairs – voted to approve budget recommendations:

“This budget is about holding our state government accountable for every single tax dollar spent. The budget the governor presented was built on sand – based on an unrealistic gas tax proposal with very little support across the state. The General Government budget reported today by our House subcommittee is built on rock and supported by real, sustainable general fund dollars.

“As legislators, it is our job to hold state departments accountable so they execute their functions and duties in a frugal and efficient manner. I believe this budget recommendation plan moving through today does just that while also opening the door to further discussions about fixing what is broken in government for the betterment of our state and the people we faithful serve.”
