State Representative Martin Howrylak joined the Michigan House of Representatives today in honoring Don Bloomfield, a survivor of the 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor. One of the few remaining Michigan-based survivors of Pearl Harbor, Bloomfield received a standing ovation from the House members on the 75th anniversary of the attack.
“The 75th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attack is a solemn opportunity to remember and honor the sacrifices members of the armed forces have made throughout the years to protect the freedoms we cherish,” said Rep. Howrylak, R-Troy. “It was an honor to meet Mr. Bloomfield today and thank him for his service to our country.”
Bloomfield, 95, was award the Bronze Star during his military service. He now lives in Midland.
