State Rep. Gary Howell of Lapeer was recently honored by the regional chapter of the Safari Club International as “Legislator of the Year” at its annual banquet.
“As chair of the House Natural Resources Committee, I look forward to working closely with this fine organization to preserve and enhance hunting and fishing opportunities in our state,” said Howell. “I particularly appreciate the work that the Safari Club International does in supporting archery and shooting sports programs in our local schools as well as helping to fund the pheasant habitat improvement project right here in the Lapeer State Game Area.”
The Safari Club International is a world leader in wildlife conservation and habitat improvement.
