State Rep. Pamela Hornberger has been elected as associate speaker pro tempore for the 2019-20 legislative session of the Michigan House of Representatives.
“It is an honor to be selected by my Michigan House colleagues to continue to lead the Michigan House next session,” said Rep. Hornberger, of Chesterfield Township. “We need to continue to ensure our policies encourage job growth and helping Michigan families.”
The assistant speaker pro tempore helps preside over the House proceedings, moderate debate, make rulings on procedure and announce the results of votes.
First elected in 2016, Rep. Hornberger this session has served as vice chair of the committee on Education Reform and is a member of the committees on Commerce and Trade, Judiciary, and Health Policy Committees.
