Rep. Hoitenga announces grant to eliminate blight in Cadillac
RELEASE|February 8, 2019

State Rep. Michele Hoitenga announced today the city of Cadillac will receive over $830,000 for the removal of blight at a downtown Cadillac site.

The grant was awarded from the Michigan Strategic Fund and Michigan Economic Development Corporation. The money is from a federal grant program that utilizes funds appropriated by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

“I am thrilled to see more investments pour into our communities,” Hoitenga of Manton said.  “I look forward to seeing a revitalized part of our community foster success and invite commerce to the community when the site is renovated.

The money will be used to knock down two buildings, remove buried debris, and restore the site. The city expects this project could result in an estimated $8.2 million future private investment.
