PHOTO INFORMATION: State Rep. Beth Griffin, of Mattawan, today hosted Undersheriff Kevin Conklin from the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Department and Dawn Hinz from the South Haven Area Emergency Services Authority (SHAES) as her guests for the Michigan House’s annual Sept. 11 Memorial Service at the Capitol. The ceremony remembers first responders and members of the military from Michigan who died in the line of duty in the past year. During the ceremony, Rep. Griffin read the name of Cpl. Cole Wixom, of Bloomingdale, who made the ultimate sacrifice earlier this year.
