Rep. Green: Resiliency and working together will defeat coronavirus
RELEASE|March 23, 2020
Contact: Phil Green

State Rep. Phil Green of Millington today issued the following statement after Gov. Gretchen Whitmer issued a ‘stay home’ order effective for at least the next three weeks:

“This is a challenging time, but I have no doubt the residents of the Thumb will have each other’s backs and work together to get through this. There is nobody tougher, more resilient or community-minded than the folks of Huron and Tuscola counties, and our entire region.

“We must have a balanced approach – considering the health and safety of our residents along with economic and social concerns. The governor, Legislature and everyone else involved in making key decisions at this time must listen to this wide variety of voices to make the best decisions possible. Essential functions will continue, but we’ll all have to do some things differently than we are used to so we can end this threat and return things to normal as soon as we can.”

Rep. Green also issued a reminder that information about COVID-19 can be found at www.michigan.gov/coronavirus and www.cdc.gov/coronavirus. Residents with health-related questions can also call Michigan’s coronavirus hotline at 1-888-535-6136 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. or email [email protected].

Rep. Green’s office also remains reachable at this time by emailing [email protected] or calling (517) 373-0476.
