RELEASE|February 7, 2020

Rep. Annette Glenn, R-Midland, said she looks forward to further reviewing Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s budget proposal to ensure taxpayers are protected and state government runs efficiently and effectively.

Rep. Glenn, a member of the House Appropriations Committee, listened to the governor’s budget presentation this week in a joint meeting of the House and Senate budget committees at the state Capitol.

“I am pleased the governor put needed emphasis on literacy, early childhood education, women and the environment,” Glenn said. “I commend her for acknowledging the importance of addressing these issues, which will ultimately improve the lives and livelihoods of all Michigan residents.

“I’ll be going through the governor’s recommendation line by line and working with my colleagues to craft a state budget that puts Michigan families first.”

Rep. Glenn serves as chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Military and Veterans Affairs and State Police, vice chair for the Licensing and Regulatory Affairs and Insurance and Financial Services Subcommittee, and vice chair of the Department of Natural Resources and Department of Environmental Quality Subcommittee. She also serves as a member of the Health and Human Services Subcommittee and the Subcommittee on School Aid and Education.
