State Rep. Anthony Forlini, R-Harrison Township, made the following statement on Gov. Rick Snyder’s budget presentation:
“I have always been impressed with the governor’s leadership and his ability to blaze a trail no matter how tough the issue. Unlike his predecessors, who were paralyzed by indecision, Gov. Snyder presents leadership and a vision to move Michigan forward.
“As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, we have the opportunity to debate the trail that he is blazing; one based on research, not politics. I urge the governor to make certain that lawmakers have the actual numbers needed, not just an outline of a plan. With those numbers we can make an informed and intelligent decision with taxpayers dollars.
“We will perform our due diligence with the goal of completing our budget by June 1, which we have accomplished the past two years. I am eager to dig into the details of his spending plan so we can begin work that guarantees we make the best use of every cent of the money entrusted to us by the hard-working men and women of Michigan.”
