Livonia-area students in elementary through high school are able to submit original cover art designs for this year’s State of the State program, as part of a contest announced by the governor.

“Livonia is full of young, creative minds who I’m sure would be strong contenders in this contest,” said Rep. Laura Cox, R-Livonia. “I sincerely hope that the students in our community are able to participate.”

Submissions must fit on a 5.5 inch x 8.5 inch cover, and be submitted by Sunday, Jan. 3. The top five submissions will be featured on the governor’s Facebook page on Tuesday, Jan. 5, and the design with the most likes will win. The winner will have their design featured on the 2016 State of the State program, and will have a chance to meet Gov. Snyder.

Submissions may be e-mailed to, or sent via U.S. mail to 111 South Capitol Avenue, P.O. Box 30013, Lansing, MI 48909.
