State Rep. Triston Cole of Mancelona today welcomed representatives from the Michigan Association of Airport Executives to the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee to discuss the importance of Michigan airports and improving facilities.
Matt Barresi, president of MAAE, who lives in the 105th District and Wayne Seiloff, vice president explained the importance of better relations between airports and their users and their commitment to the airport industry within Michigan.
“Airports connect travelers between communities and throughout the world,” said Rep. Cole, chair of the committee. “Aviation plays a vital role in our economy and we must make sure that airports are at the best condition.”
The MAAE was founded in 1949 to represent airport management through Michigan. Its primary goal is to assist airport executives in fulfilling their responsibilities to the airports and communities they serve. Michigan airports support over 100,000 jobs and there are over 50 million annual passengers.
