Rep. Bob Genetski, R-Saugatuck; audio on Native American mascot ruling

Categories: Audio

Rep. Genetski says he is pleased to hear that the U.S. Department of Education has rejected a complaint filed by the Michigan Department of Civil Rights that called for an end to the use of Native American mascots by public schools in Michigan.  Rep. Genetski is the author of legislation that would have transferred $3 million from the DCR budget to affected schools if the changes had been ordered.
