State Rep. Phil Potvin, today was appointed to the House Appropriations Committee, and was named chair of the subcommittee on Agriculture and Rural Development for the 2013-2014 legislative term.
“I am looking forward to a second term as Chair of the Agriculture and Rural Development Subcommittee,” said Potvin, R-Cadillac. “Agriculture is the second biggest industry in Michigan, so we need to continue to grow our support for Michigan’s farmers and producers.”
Potvin will also serve on three other House Appropriations subcommittees, including as vice chair of the School Aid Subcommittee, as well as a member of Joint Capital Outlay, and Department of Education subcommittees.
“I will work diligently with the members of the Appropriations Committee, the House, and with my counterparts in the Senate to complete our budgets in a thoughtful and timely manner. I look forward to seeing the Governor’s budget proposal and getting right to work.”
