O’Malley calls on Senate Dems to ‘get it right’
RELEASE|May 1, 2019

State Rep. Jack O’Malley, of Lake Ann, released the following statement after the Michigan House passed an amended version of the snow day legislation, which will protect schools from extending the school year far into the summer months as a result of many weather-related closures this winter:

“This didn’t have to be a partisan issue, and it’s unfortunate it became one. Now Senate Democrats have a second chance to get it right.

“We need this commonsense solution and we need it fast in order to give Northern Michigan schools relief and prevent students from attending school well into July. I urge my colleagues in the Senate to do what’s best for our local communities by approving this plan and giving it immediate effect.”
