Michigan House approves Rep. Glenn’s ‘Constitution Week’ resolution
RELEASE|September 17, 2019

State Rep. Annette Glenn’s resolution highlighting the importance of the U.S. Constitution was approved today by the Michigan House.

The resolution observes Sept. 17-23 as Constitution Week throughout the state. The Michigan House approved the resolution on Sept. 17, 2019 – the 232nd anniversary of the historic document’s signing in Philadelphia.

“We must never take the Constitution for granted – that’s why it is so important the House took this step and approved this resolution,” said Glenn, of Midland. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to pay tribute to our nation’s founding and to reflect on the rights, privileges and responsibilities inherent in citizenship of this great nation.”

Glenn said her resolution was crafted and adopted based on a recommendation from the Midland John Alden Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

“The Constitution has shepherded the United States of America through more than two centuries, and it will shape the future for our children, grandchildren and beyond,” Glenn said. “Just as it did 232 years ago, the Constitution enshrines and brings to life our ongoing commitment to life, liberty and democracy.”

Glenn’s measure is House Resolution 162.
