Earlier today, the Department of Technology, Management and Budget announced that the state’s unemployment rate dropped to 7.2 percent — its lowest since March 2008 — thanks to the creation of an additional 9,000 jobs and 6,000 fewer unemployed people.
Coupled with Ford Motor Company’s latest announcement, it’s clear to see that Michigan’s economy is kicking into overdrive.
According to the Detroit News, Ford is adding 850 hourly jobs to a trio of facilities at its Rouge Center in Dearborn. The workers filling these newly created jobs will help build the aluminum body of the Ford F-150 pickup, set to hit showrooms later this year.
