Chairman Wentworth responds to Senate car insurance plan
RELEASE|May 7, 2019

State Rep. Jason Wentworth, chair of the House Select Committee on Reducing Car Insurance Rates, today issued the following statement in response to the Michigan Senate approving no-fault car insurance reform:

“I appreciate our partners in the Senate making progress toward fixing our state’s broken no-fault car insurance system. The Michigan House shares this priority, which is why our special committee has spent the past 15 weeks hearing testimony, taking public comment and meeting repeatedly with every group working on this issue to find a genuine solution that lowers car insurance rates for Michigan families. We are going to combine our findings with the Senate’s plan and use the ideas we believe create the best way forward for all Michigan drivers. Michiganders want a real, long-lasting solution, and we are going to deliver results together very soon.”
