Calumet receives grant money to improve infrastructure
RELEASE|January 25, 2019

State Rep. Greg Markkanen of Hancock announced today that Calumet will receive over $1 million to enhance infrastructure in the township.

A total of 11 cities, towns, and villages statewide were granted funds from the Community Development Block Grant Program.

“Many communities in the U.P. have been effected by the crippling weather conditions that have taken a toll on our infrastructure,” Markkanen said.  “I’m very pleased to see grant money available to lend a helping hand in the U.P. and strengthen our communities.”

The money will be used to replace undersized water mains, increasing system reliability and flow.
