House Republicans ahead of schedule: 36 percent of Action Plan complete

Categories: Initiatives,Reinventing MI

With one quarter of the 2015-2016 legislative session behind us, House Republicans have demonstrated a focus on Michigan by completing 36 percent of our Action Plan.

Gov. Rick Snyder this week signed a balanced budget early for the fifth year in a row, and House Republicans are fulfilling their promises to Michiganders ahead of schedule, too.

Shortly after the House convened this year, we introduced an ambitious and transparent Action Plan for the current legislative session that includes the following policy goals focused on job and economic growth; creating bright futures for Michiganders and students; improving government accountability and eliminating obstacles; and getting the state moving and powering its future.

With 78 items on our to-do list, we knew we had to craft and approve many pieces of valuable legislation early in the two-year legislative session in order to stay on track.

The House Republican Action Plan is a promise to all Michiganders, and so far, the House has passed 36 percent of the items with a year-and-a-half to go. A total of 64 percent of the Action Plan items have already been introduced.

House Republicans focus on Michigan, listen to the people of the Great Lake State and maintain transparent access to our priorities and progress.

We deliver on our promises to Michiganders and are committed to making this state the best it can be for all who work and live here.

We’ve made remarkable strides toward completing our Action Plan in only six months. You can read our updated Action Plan status report here, and the entire 2015-16 Action Plan here.
